GIST ME Tv Interview

Watch my exclusive up and close interview with Gist Me Tv Magazine

Check it out under FAVOURITES

THANK YOU

A while ago we introduced a new page "TOPIC OF THE WEEK" and Hloni was our new columnist on that page. Unfortunately Hloni will no longer be our columnist. She would like to say thank you and here's her message to Weza, Loraine (Editor) and to all of you who read the Blog.

"We don't know exactly what will happen if we don't do something. But we do know what will happen if we do nothing... Nothing. What I'm trying to say is i committed myself to writing a letter to Weza and asking if i could work with her and something happened.

I wrote Weza an email asking for a once of a lifetime opportunity and she was kind in enough to give me one and i grabbed it with both hands and since then everything has changed. Writing for "Topic of the week" has been amazing. I have grown not only as a writer but a person, it has changed me in a lot of ways. I have learned so much and it has been quite an experience. Miss Weza and Loraine have made me a BETTER WRITER.

They taught me a lot and i will take that with me, wherever i go. It has been such a roller coaster and i am thankful and blessed. I would also want to thank YOU the readers, you have been incredibly amazing, supportive, i appreciated your opinions, your views, your feedback and your constructive criticism. I appreciate it and i love you all so much.

My journey is just starting and do not know where i am going but I'm going to have a great time getting there. I am seeing nothing but my dreams come true while I'm staring at the world through my rear view. I want you all to know that it's okay to dream and chase after your dreams and trust you me, they will come true. It only takes patience, hardwork, dedication, passion and determination. Take risks, take chances and see what happens, there is no harm in going after something you want. Look at me, i went after something and it paid off. No one will ever understand your vision as much as you. Don't get discouraged. Instead amplify the desire to turn your vision into reality. It's never too late to start living your dreams.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
God bless you

BOXER BABY JAKE PASSES ON

While the nation and the world at large is mourning the loss of the Father of the nation, news was released on the Social Networks and Media that boxer Jacob "Baby Jake" Matlala has passed on. The four time World Champion who put SA boxing international passed on today at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital. He was 51 years of age.

Once ranked number 72 in 2004 on the list of 100 greatest South Africans  he was known as the man who was "small but had a big heart". One cannot talk about boxing and not mention Matlala. Baby Jake" Matlala, watched by former President Nelson Mandela and top Hollywood actor Will Smith, brought the curtain down on his 22-year professional boxing career on March 3, 2002 with a seventh-round stoppage win over Juan Herrera to retain his WBU junior flyweight title. He was a champion that was noteworthy.

Our condolences go out to his family, friends , community and the Sporting fraternity. May he rest in peace.

R.I.P Nelson Mandela

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” — Nelson Mandela

It is with sad regret that the humble, loving , kind and iconic Father of the South African Nation has now passed on. As a nation our prayers are with Mom Graca Mandela, his children, the Mandela family and our community at large as we are all at a loss.

He leaves a legacy that will transcend through time and the ages. He truly was a son of the Soil and his story tells us that he was here to serve and he dedicated his life to that purpose.

We are not worthy to tell his story or share his Biography so we will let his story tell you who this man was. Attached is the link to his Biography.

CHANNEL O AWARDS

The 10th Annual Channel O Music Video Awards was this past weekend and as always the glitz and glamour of this star studded event was everything you expected it to be. Africa's Music and entertainment royalty were all under one roof competing/celebrating each other.

I've been part of the Channel O family since 2009 and I must say that every year this award show gets more and more exciting. It's amazing as one gets to see who are the true Artists that stand the test of time and who are one hit wonders that slowly disappear away into this cut throat industry.

One of the things I love most about the Awards is the fact that people take time to dress up and look the part. I  also love what goes on backstage, the drama, the laughter, the fights, it's an experience on its own. Congratulations to the whole team who worked so hard to make it happen, yes there were a few glitches which I'm sure will be sorted next year, but overall.... JOB WELL DONE * claps hands*
