While the nation and the world at large is mourning the loss of the Father of the nation, news was released on the Social Networks and Media that boxer Jacob "Baby Jake" Matlala has passed on. The four time World Champion who put SA boxing international passed on today at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital. He was 51 years of age.
Once ranked number 72 in 2004 on the list of 100 greatest South Africans he was known as the man who was "small but had a big heart". One cannot talk about boxing and not mention Matlala.
